sunday afternoon crafts {bow tank}

I thought while sitting among this heat wave that has reached the Midwest, it fitting to feature an adorable tank to craft today on your lazy (hot) Sunday afternoon! Another reason to invest in a sewing machine. Picture linked to instructions. This Sunday Afternoon Craft thanks to Sweet Verbana.

Enjoy your Sunday!

some Indiana math

Friday's Indiana equation (grading scale to be determined):

county fair in rural Indiana
+
attending the 4-H sheep & swine auction
+
moo-n-oink deal for dinner
------------------------------------------------
More reason to love Hoosier country.
Couldn't think of a better way to spend a Friday.

treasures upon treasures

Goodwill: where you find treasures upon treasures. In the ongoing project that is decorating the apartment, Goodwill has become one of the more sought after decorating destinations. I especially enjoyed this lil trip. Everything in my cart for under $20. Cute and fiscally resposible - two of my favorite things.

Fave part of the whole outing: My unexplainable love for ceramic animals as decorations (remember my ceramic rhino?) is still an extremely prominent love when trying to decorate soooo I was elated to find a ceramic elephant (I actually found 2! and a broken equestrian book end. I would have snatched those guys up if they were in more mint condition), but alas I left him in hopes of finding an even BETTER ceramic elephant...I know he is out there some where. the search continues...

beatin the heat

Frozen yogurt=staple of my summer (well it is now that there is one walking distance from the apartment and on the commute back from work).

Today was recorded as one of the hottest nights of the summer. for certain. and playing softball league this evening in the extreme amounts of humidity and sunshine just begged for a Red Mango night. Alas, I did restrain myself from getting this yogurt goodness. But come another hot day and its Red Mango time.

artist spotlight {The Civil Wars}

One of my new favorite artists are The Civil Wars. I actually have already blogged about them here, but at the beginning of July, I went to their concert at the Earth House in Indy and they are even more marvelous in concert. By far.

The pictures are off their blog from the same performance night (apparently I did some mighty good Civil Wars social media tracking. pat-on-the-back for me.) To see their entire tumblr, go here.

l-o-v-e these guys.

buurrfffddayyy

hooray, hoora, hoorooo!

ahheeemm, without further ado: water {with lemon} is officially back in action and I am ready to rumble, rock and roll, go bananas, light this candle, put the pedal to the medal and any other idiom you can think of to express large amounts of excitement and anticipation! You see, I had a birthday in the interim between scattered posts & macbook malfunctions (happy birthday to me) and am a year older (wiser? mature-er?). So things have changed. Or I would like to think so.

'But how does turning a year older have to do with re-starting up the blog or have to do with anything?,' you scratch your head, sip your iced tea through a curly-cue straw and ask your self. Great question my dear reader. You see, with this coming of a ripe older age paralleled with the rebooting of my blog, I evaluated some things, and, by starting out my 'first' post as an older individual, wanted to recognize that I am incredibly ready for this adventure that is this next year. and am ready to (try my hardest to) document it here.

so hats off to adventure that is this next year!

a diagnosis

hello friends.

I am happy to report Macbook is home safe and sound as of last Friday (sorry I have not updated you on its health until this very night). After a full diagnostic, the battery disfunction was poisoning the performance of Macbook, an appendix rupture of sorts in the laptop world: annoying and painful, but nothing that can not be fixed. So here I sit, typing away on a battery-less Macbook. For the time being, it will have to always be hooked up to a power chord until a new battery arrives.

I am so thankful that its hard drive is as healthy as a horse. Battery-schmattery. Macbook is smooth sailing with the power chord. For that I am grateful. ANNND this means blog updates will be in full swing in the hours/weeks/months to come. Get excited!

of health and other concerns

Readers. You may have recognized the lag of this little blog's posts, pictures and overall lack of updates. I regret to inform you of the failing health of my dear Macbook. Though a good well-rounded 5 years old, reaching its middle ages reflects in health concerns popping up hear and there. Last Sunday was a prime example of this phenomenon, with Macbook showing signs of illness: taking longer time to start, itunes randomly closing, not responding to mouse clicks and a high fever of overheating. Poor lil guy.

Come Monday, to my dismay it came down with something terrible, an incurable illness even the likes of a well-versed Apple user as myself could not help resuscitate. Distraught and confused, an emergency rush to the Apple store was quickly called on, where Macbook is currently reported to be in stable condition.

I will keep you updated with any further developments, but can not promise any colorful or exciting posts until the health of Macbook is stabilized. Thank you for your concerns.

(boo. I want my macbook back. not fun at all.)
