mass ave. yatz. haitian art.

Friday I got to experience what Indianapolis natives refer to as "Mass. Ave." (I'm still trying to pick up on the language of this city so incorporating this new found vocabulary into my everyday speak has become of utmost importance in adapting to life here- go here to read of my first experiences with Indy language. ha.) Mass Ave is short for Massachusetts Ave which is the Arts and Theatre district of the city.

Every first Friday of the month, Mass. Ave holds a ton of art shows, so my dear friend (and fellow Indy dweller) Allison threw on our scarves and headed down a snowy and cold Mass. Ave. to see art and grab dinner. We ended up at a Haitian Art exhibit and experienced beautiful photography, talked to some organizations working in Haiti and enjoyed the ambiance that was the art show. We headed to a popular local Cajun restaurant called Yatz where we ended up chatting until they closed (and ended up being the very last customers. they gave us some free stuff). Great night. Love Mass Ave.
